I remember 'Sains' well. We had several classes together and played on the form football team for 2 years until I was dragged kicking and screaming away from Sloane and hauled off to the USA. I was More house & he was Beaufort and the football was always competitive between us. He was big strong quick right back and I was a small weak slow left half. I was in touch with Ken a few years ago, we had a few discussions but the memories and the common bond had faded. He will be that 14 year old fullback to me 'til I die, as will all my Sloane mates. RIP Ken.

Saw your post, I too am a N. Ken kid, grew up on Runcorn Pl near Walmer Rd. & Avondale park. 2 streets over from Alan 'bigmouth' Mullery. Played with & against him at the 'rec'. My Sloane years '54-'57 when I was yanked from Sloane & dragged onto a boat to America, just because my sister married a GI. I looked up Mike Tomkys, being a life long 'Rs' fan. They list him as a leftwinger which means he was behind a certain Ernie Shepherd so didn't get as many GameSpy as he might have. I did go to a lot of youth and reserve games and remember him. I'm living in Long Beach, California . Well cheers, hope you're well..
